Shafali Verma was bought by the Delhi Capitals for INR 2 crore at the WPL auction. An explosive batter, Shafali has the ability to win matches on her own. She possesses a healthy strike-rate of 130 in T20Is and could play a crucial role in helping the Capitals build a solid platform upfront. Verma led the 20203 U-19 India women’s team to title triumph in South Africa. She was a part of the Indian team that reached the final of the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2020. The aggressive batter finished as India’s highest run-getter in the tournament. She was a part of the Indian team that won their maiden gold medal at the Asian Games in Hangzhou. Shafali had a good outing in the first edition of the WPL where she finished as Delhi Capitals’ second-highest run-getter in the tournament with 252 runs from 9 matches at an excellent strike rate of 185.29.
