Meg Lanning has already cemented her legacy as one of cricket’s all-time greats. A true icon of the game, she has achieved remarkable success throughout her illustrious career. Now, she is set to make an even greater impact in the Women’s Premier League. Known as ‘the Megastar,’ Lanning is a masterful leader and an explosive batter capable of dismantling any bowling attack.
Renowned for her tactical brilliance and sharp cricketing mind, she played a pivotal role in shaping Australia into a dominant force. Her impressive collection of trophies speaks volumes about her success—four T20 World Cup titles (2014, 2018, 2020, 2023), an ODI World Cup (2022), and a Commonwealth Games gold medal. Under her leadership, Australia achieved a record-breaking 26 consecutive wins.
Lanning also made her mark in the inaugural WPL season, finishing as the tournament’s highest run-scorer with 345 runs in nine innings. In November 2023, she announced her international retirement at just 31, closing a golden chapter in her career. Now, as she takes on the WPL challenge with Delhi Capitals, she will be aiming to add yet another title to her already decorated career.
